October 16, 2013 - UPDATE: BRIDGE COLLAPSE
The initial demolition of the collapsed bridge on Panzier Lane is complete. The initial cause is being attributed to section loss or rusting of the steel piling at or near the creek bottom. More information will be made available as the project continues. Traffic is being detoured around the bridge via Riddle Lane.

September 5, 2013 - BRIDGE COLLAPSE
At approximately 2:30pm on September 5, a bridge collapse occurred on Panzier Lane 1/2 mile south of Route 15. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the collapse. Jefferson County, IDOT and the Federal Highway Administration will be performing a forensic study of the bridge beginning September 9 as portions of the existing structure are removed to gain access to the failed substructure. More information will be made available as the investigation continues.
