APRIL 7, 2017 - CONSOLIDATED GENERAL ELECTION
We have to wait for two weeks for late arriving ballots (April 18th) and those will be added in the afternoon of the 18th. The CANVASS OF RESULTS will be done on April 19th - for results click here and for Rend Lake College click here. Districts can pick up canvassed results on the 19th in the afternoon (unless you overlap with other counties that I have to wait on results from them). If results are not picked up on the April 19th and I have not received a call to hold them, results will be mailed on April 20th. For the list of term beginning dates click here.

All Townships will hold a political party caucus to nominate candidates, except Independent candidates whom circulate petitions. Independent Township candidates pick up and file at their township.
All Township Caucus will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016. Multi-Township Assessor caucus (if necessary) will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016. Contact your township for place and time for each party's caucus. Contact information is on County web site - County Info tab - Municipalities & Townships.

Early voting and the first day to mail out ballots is February 23rd (if ballots available) - for an application for a mail ballot click here. Early voting will be available Monday thru Friday until April 3, 2017, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. and on Saturdays, March 25th & April 1st from 8:00 a.m. until noon. The last day to mail out a ballot is March 30, 2017.
The last day to file to be a write-in candidate is February 2nd - form available on web site under Resource Center tab or in the office.
The last day for a candidate to withdraw is January 26, 2017.
The last day to register to vote or report name/address change and vote at your polling place is March 7th. Grace registration and voting begins on March 8th but registrants must furnish two forms of identification proving date of birth and address.

The City of Mt. Vernon will not have a Consolidated Primary Election to nominate due to the number of filings, so they will run for election at the Consolidated General Election.
